Course description
This is the first level in our curriculum. Embark on a journey into the rich and vibrant world of the Spanish language with our Spanish A1.1 course, which has been designed for complete beginners.
Whether you are planning a trip to a Spanish-speaking country, looking to connect with Spanish-speaking communities, or simply eager to learn a new language, this course is your first step towards mastering the fundamentals of Spanish.
Our level 1 course offers a dynamic blend of interactive lessons and engaging activities in which students can connect and practice with fellow learners. The course is guided by qualified, experienced teachers. They will help you understand the essentials of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation within a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Course aims
Through a comprehensive approach to language teaching and learning, you will be able to develop basic communication skills. Moreover, you will understand foundational grammar knowledge, expand your vocabulary, start developing inter-cultural awareness, and build confidence in using Spanish in familiar, everyday sociocultural contexts.
Learn how to:

- Introduce yourself and somebody else.
- Name the objects of the classroom and ask questions in Spanish.
- Give personal information (e.g., your profession, age, and place of work, etc.).
- Express intentions in the future.
- Explain why you do something.
- Give touristic information about your country.

Grammar:
- The present of regular verbs (i.e., -er, -ir, -ar)
- The verbs llamarse, querer, ser, estar, and tener.
- The definite and indefinite articles.
- The gender of nationalities and professions.
- The cause (i.e., por, para and porque).
- Question words (e.g.,cuál, dónde, cuándo, qué, etc.).
- The subject pronouns in the Hispanic world.
- The superlative forms.
- Quantifiers (e.g.,muy, muchos, muchas, etc.).
Pronunciation:
- An introduction to the sounds of the Spanish language
- The syllable
- The sounds /h/, /x/, /g/
- The intonation for questions

Course requirements
In order to make the most of your language learning journey, you will need:
- The book Aula Internacional Plus 1 – Difusión*, which you can purchase here, or via Amazon.
- Some basic knowledge on how to use Zoom.
- A computer from which you can take the lesson.
- Reliable Internet service.
- A web camera and a functional microphone connected to your device.
- A positive learning attitude throughout the course, coupled with active participation in all class procedures.
