Course description
Our Spanish A1.3 course represents the next stage of your language journey, tailored for learners who have already established a foundation in basic Spanish language skills. This course continues to foster your exploration of the language and culture, offering opportunities to deepen your understanding and skills. Whether your goal is to further improve your communication abilities, explore Hispanic culture in more depth, or simply continue your language learning journey, this course provides the perfect platform to advance to the second half of the elementary level.
Through a dynamic combination of interactive lessons and stimulating activities, you will continue to reinforce your understanding of grammar, expand your vocabulary, hone your pronunciation, and further develop your overall proficiency in Spanish. Under the guidance of our experienced and knowledgeable teachers, you will delve into more complex topics and engage in collaborative learning experiences with your peers, enabling you to progress confidently towards proficiency in the language.
Course aims
Building upon your prior experience from Level A1.2, this course is designed to advance your proficiency in Spanish communication. By the end of the course, you will further explore intricate grammar concepts, broaden your vocabulary to incorporate subtler nuances, cultivate a heightened intercultural sensitivity, and bolster your confidence in utilising Spanish across diverse everyday scenarios.
Learn how to:
- talk about everyday habits;
- express frequency;
- tell the time;
- express preferences;
- describe cities and towns;
- talk about your neighbourhood;
- ask for directions;
- express likes and dislikes;
- talk about past experiences;
- express abilities and aptitudes; and
- talk about people’s qualities and weaknesses.

- The present tense of irregular verbs
- Pronominal verbs
- Agreeing and disagreeing
- Expressing order (e., cohesive devices to express order)
- Quantifiers (g., algún, ningún, mucho, etc.)
- Adverbs of place (g., a, en, al lado de, etc.)
- The pretérito perfecto tense
- The verbs saber and poder

- The sounds /p/, /t/, and /k/
Vocabulary:
- The days of the week and the names of the planets
- The parts of a day
- Daily activities
- Cities’ services and common places

Course requirements
In order to make the most of your language learning journey, you will need:
- The book Aula Internacional Plus 1 – Difusión*, which you can purchase here, or via Amazon;
- Some basic knowledge on how to use Zoom and Google Classroom;
- A computer from which you can take the lesson;
- Reliable Internet service;
- A web camera and a functional microphone connected to your device;
- A positive learning attitude throughout the course, coupled with active participation in all class procedures.
